About Song Circles:

Singing has been named

"the world's most accessible

stress reliever."

What’s a Song Circle?

A song circle is a place where songs and chants to open the heart, with healing messages and intentions, are shared by the group.

At this retreat, you will be guided by three divinely-inspired songleaders and prayerkeepers Miriam, Elana and Jessie. Elana will also guide you in creative "circle singing" inspired by the improvisational methods of Bobby McFerrin.

We will have several circles, including our New Year’s Eve songcircle, where you are invited to bring your favorite heart songs or prayers to share. And a closing circle to share our songs created or "caught" at the retreat.

At this New Year’s Retreat, we will sing in community, by fireside, sharing songs with each other and as offerings to the Great Mystery.

Also at the retreat, we will have guided opportunities to “Sing a New Song” or “catch” songs as your prayer for the new year ahead, and to share our songs with community.

NO!!! Singing is EASY, and don’t believe any music teacher or buzzkill who tells you otherwise!

What is it to “catch” a song?

You’ll have to come to the retreat

to find out.!

About Rawhide Rattle Making:

On New Year's Eve, we have an opportunity to make a sacred instrument that will carry our prayers and voices forward into the new year. Participants will infuse their rattle with their prayers and learn how to work with the rattle to channel songs. All materials will be provided to the participants.

Buffalo, Deer, Elk rawhides are available

Pebbles, sea glass, and seeds provided

About Shabbat:

Your guides Miriam, Elana and Jessie all trace their lineage through Jewish ancestral lines, and follow the traditions and customs of Jewish practice. Because Shabbat is SO beautiful, we want to share some of the richest customs with you at this retreat!

Shabbat is known as the day of rest, and we sanctify this day with special songs, prayers, and customs, such as enjoying 3 festive meals, prioritizing pleasure, singing, and mythic storytelling.

This Shabbat experience will be accessible to folks of

all faiths and cultural backgrounds.
